Segment Challenge will be shutting down. Read more
Throughout 2018, we will be holding a “Segment of the Month” challenge. Each month a different Strava segment within the Outpost A Group route will be selected. Whoever records the fastest time (male and female) over the segment is the stage winner. Leaderboards are created for the General Classification (GC), King and Queen of the Montain (KOM/QOM), and Sprint competitions.
The Segment Challenge is open to all Bike Surgeon Strava members, who have a personal Strava account. Record a time on the Segment of the Month, and upload to Strava within the challenge period. Only your best time counts (Although you can try as many times as you like). Points will be awarded to the top 10 rider each month. At the end of each month the Segment champions will be announced (male and female). At the end of the year, the overall champions will be determined by whoever accumulates the most points by the end of the challenge. The Segment Challenge is about having fun and challenging yourselves. The Highway Code and rules of the road must be adhere to at all times. If you are deemed to put either yourself or somebody else at risk, we will delete the entire challenge. Points are awarded as follows
GC: 15/12/10/8/6/5/4/3/2/1 Sprint: Flat 10/8/6/4/2, Rolling 5/4/3/2/1 KOM: Mountain 10/8/6/4/2, Rolling 5/4/3/2/1
Activities included in the challenge are based on each athlete's local time zone.
Activity privacy settings must be marked Everyone to count towards the challenge.
All activities logged during the challenge period must be uploaded to Strava no later than three days after a stage ends.
This challenge is organised by Bike Surgeon and only members may join.
